As an entrepreneur, where do you go for training? As a team leader, where do you go for training? We are supposed to be the one in charge and ready to do the task at hand. Is that correct? After all, you were chosen or took the reins yourself to be the responsible one. I think that it is easy and common to be judged as a leader.
Those judgements are normally comparisons of the organization’s progress from one point in the past to the present. But as leaders, are we really looking from where we are today, in the present, to where we need to progress to? If we are a bigger future type of people, we are looking forward and when doing so, we just might see many areas of the unknown.
We can have a better sense of clarity and confidence then by being with others. Being led by them and their insights in their fields just might be part of our training as leaders. We can think of Olympic or professional athletes to look at in their early stages of development.
Without the intervention and insertion of trainers, coaches, even teammates and opponents, they would not be able to develop. Where might you and your organization need to look for a coach? The future just might depend on it.
Collaborating at a higher level might require trusting the perceptions of an outside viewpoint. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Brothers and sisters, how is your training going? In the great game of life, we have the words of the Bible to guide us. We also have a Savior that has already paid the cost for our failures. But if we want to draw as close to God as possible, we may need to trust ourselves to help us improve.
We read, "I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” NLT 9:27 1 Corinthians. If we are focused internally, it can be difficult sometimes to see a view that might help us grow further. Sometimes we cannot see the forest because of the trees.
Which Olympic athletes do you think are not coached? Who can you reach out to that assist you as a coach and begin to collaborate? Picking an area of improvement in our faith journey and getting a coach might be what one can do to grow in your faith. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, thank you for your guidance. Insert people into our lives that might help us to draw closer to you. May we love one another and find clarity and confidence together. Help us to serve one another and to be served without the judgment of this world getting in the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen,
