August 19. Dripping Faucets And Plugged Drains.
There is evidence when water problems exist. Look for it.
Leaders and entrepreneurs, where is the water? Wherever water is stored up there is potential. That potential can protect as well as serve. Think of the water stored behind a dam. It keeps the rivers below from flooding every spring. But it also assures that there is a constant supply of water for irrigation among the fertile soils along the riverbanks.
Where is the potential, the untapped momentum in your organization right now? Is it flowing in a manner that maximizes its power to help? Could it be that it is being held back by a plug, unnoticed for what it could do? Before you look at any team member that might control a plug, it might be beneficial to know where you are the plug.
It could also be that you have lost all your momentum and need to build up some reserves. A plug will most likely still be in place unless someone comes along to collaborate and start to move it. Who can you collaborate with to get some potential moving?
What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
The power of water and its meaning in our faith is widespread, almost overflowing. We are baptized with water. We are cleansed and refreshed, born again in Christ. These examples represent some type of symbolism of water. Moses floated on the water and separated the water as Israel escaped the Egyptians.
Noah built and floated in the ark as the water rose. We know water as Christians. We are steeped in so much historical water that we should probably be sloshing around as we walk. But water is either only good or bad. There is no in between. You can either drink it or it is unsafe to drink.
Is it fresh or bitter? So today as brothers and sisters, we can relate that water to our actions. We read, "Does a spring of water bubble out with both freshwater and bitter water?” James 3:11 NLT. For the balance of our day today, will we be a spring of bubbling, even sparkling good water?
Maybe our disposition has been that of bitter water. I bet a prayer might just have the power to transform the bitterness into something more refreshing. Prayer can be inviting and even cleansing for ourselves and others that we have contact with. Are you ready for some fresh water for the autumn?
We all have faucets that we ourselves have the strength to turn on. But some faucets need the help of others to turn for us. How can you collaborate in your faith to tap some potential? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you have washed the entire world and we thank you for that. As we act out our sin, we dirty ourselves, and your creation. Bring the freshness that we may receive through your Holy Spirit.
Let us awaken to the freshness like the grass that awakens to the sunrise with dew upon its blades. Make us shine in the brightness of your love and draw nearer to you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
