Deceber 4. Here Comes The Rain.

Mark Queen • December 3, 2024

Who needs a soaking and how will you help in the process?

How is your team doing with their workflow and attitudes? As a leader, you guide that process for their benefit and for the people that you are in relationship with. It is as if our team and relationships move like the clouds move over the earth. Where do you move them?

If we help to move them, we can enhance where the rain falls from the clouds. The ground needs that moisture. Leaders are like the jet stream over the weather pattern influencing the temperature, the rainfall, and elements of the earth. Where do you need to bend and influence your team?

The value and harvest to be received are at stake. If we fail to get the clouds and rain where we need it the crops will not get watered.  Our attitudes can create deserts where orchards are supposed to be. What attitudes are not acceptable for your team?

A member who does not value safety will not be a valuable part of a team on a high-rise construction team.  A member who does not have an attitude that values accuracy will not make a good surgeon for your team.  Everyone has developed attitudes, but they are capable of changing just like the weather.

If you change the amount of rain that the desert gets, the plant life and environment will transform the area. As a leader, what attitudes need influenced on your team?  What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?

As followers of Christ, we have read the stories of his love and examples of living. Oh, the joy we might experience daily with him as our value. We can endure so much with his joy.

We read, "Then the remnant left in Israel will take their place among the nations. They will be like dew sent by the LORD or like rain falling on the grass, which no one can hold back, and no one can restrain." Micah 5:7 NLT. I am reminded how I am a remnant of Christ's love and so are you.

This verse reminds me to be soaked. No attitude has to hold back the rain that soaks the grass, the garden, and fills the pond. Let Jesus love us and remind us that we do not need to run for shelter when it happens. We do not need an umbrella to protect us from His rain of love.

We are challenged to run for protection though in our world. Maybe your attitude of forgiveness has created a drought in your faith walk recently. Maybe an attitude of fear might have yourself running for shelter unknowingly and is keeping yourself from the rain you need to grow.

Our attitudes make a difference in our faith.  Perhaps what we need to lead a strong journey in our faith is to check in with the weather report.  For us, the weather report is the audit of our attitudes. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the joy of your love. We thank you for the relationships that you bless us with today and ask that you touch them to grow. We ask that you soak those relationships with your rain of love and grow our ability to form new attitudes.

Bring people and circumstances into our lives that encourage us. Let us change the attitudes we hold that make us run for shelter and keep us from you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
