February 3 Do You Make Reservations For Cars, Hotels and Your Team?

Mark Queen • February 2, 2024

There is a party to plan for so get your reservation completed.

I greet you today by saying Happy New Year, Happy Birthday, and Happy Anniversary! One thing in common here is that parties can be the focus of these celebrations. It takes planning to prepare for the party.

Entertainment is engaged, decorations are designed and deployed, the venue is prepared, and the party is prepared for. It is a lot of work and there also should be an invitation. How are you doing as a leader at inviting others? It takes a compelling invitation today to get a person to a party it seems.

Much like our attention span, the RSVP process, and the window for responding has gotten shorter. Are we as leaders capturing the attention of our team with our value proposition? Everyone needs to know the theme, the time, the place, and it needs to be known if there is anything to bring.

One does not want to show up to a wedding without a wedding gift. We do not want our team showing up to deliver value and to be empty handed either. Where might you do a better job of inviting and submitting your RSVP?

In Matthew 22:2, Jesus told the parable of the wedding feast held for the King’s son. We know that two sets of people were invited. The first were the people the King initially invited and who ignored the invitation. The second was everyone else. The invitations were to the same party.

But some are not going to be at the party. Of those that are going to it, they should make a RSVP as should we. The sooner we make our RSVP's the better our lives will be. By doing so, we can live in the possibility of what the party is going to be like and prepare ourselves to go to it.

We can decide whether to show up dressed for the occasion and come bearing the correct gifts or not. Christ has called us to follow him and I suspect that when a new follower gives his life to Christ, there is a party held in heaven. As brothers and sisters, are we inviting others to the party?

Have we made a RSVP tha t we are coming? How many are you bringing to the party? I hope it is more than just yourself. What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you have sent us an invitation. The information is complete, and we know your expectations. Because of your plan, not ours, we can attend a great banquet. Prepare us for such an event as we have never seen before.

Help us to prepare our minds now for what is to come. May we share the love that we have been given through you. Encourage us to make the opportunity to invite other guests to come with us as you described in the invitation.

Abundantly send our treasures and gifts ahead so that they will be at the party when we arrive. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
