January 16 Have You Ever Wondered Why Wisdom Isn't Spelled as Whysdom?

Mark Queen • January 16, 2024

Questions about why may change perspectives.

As a leader of your team, why will you lead today? When you allow the question why to start a decision, you get to the core of the beginning. You can get problems out in the open faster and begin to connect with others better. There is a great book titled "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek.

Businesses might be classified down to just two categories of commodity based or value based.  If you do not know your why then your business likely leans towards being a commodity. Want to see the importance of why?

Think right now, whose opinion would you seek out today if you were in a tough spot? Is that person a commodity or do you think of them as valuable, as having some wisdom? That question gets one to the why, I think.

We would seek out a person because in some area of their life they have some wisdom that you might benefit from. That is the reason I like to transform the word wisdom and spell it a new way as "Whysdom."

There are times when our businesses are challenged to enhance profits, reduce expenses, and reward team members. When this happens, we might benefit by examining our why again. It might be one of the easiest ways to find and deliver more value to both the internal team and the external team as well.

Where might you bring honor and value by doing a better task of defining your why this week?

The book of Psalms has many verses written about wisdom. Check out Psalms 111:1-10 for a brief example if you like. But the book of Psalms itself is spelled uniquely. Have you ever wondered why the P starts off the word Psalms? Why don't you go to the ocean and catch psalmon?

That why question takes us to our most important wants. Knowing why the p is not in front of the word salmon will not likely change your life and bring significance. But the quest of why you want God in your life just might help one to find significance. Why will you love one another?

Why will you hate someone, be rude, or take advantage of one another? Answer these questions of why and behavior will likely change over time. When we question why about hate, rudeness, and injuring others we will learn about ourselves.

We will begin to grow more away from our independent needs of ourselves and grow to our bigger self and bigger future. Why has very few words that are more powerful than it. I choose to spell wisdom today as whysdom. What why do you need to answer in your faith walk?

What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, sometimes we get our lives entangled. One decision leads to that decision. I need you in my life because I am a sinful being. Why do you love us so much that you sent your son? It is beyond my comprehension, but we believe that you did.

That is why I will have confidence to go out into the world. I will love others better, pray for others more and seek to be in relationship with Christ because you are my why. Help us to obtain wisdom by using whysdom as a tool. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
