March 3. What Is Important May Change.

It seems like the concern or question of what is the "most important" has been around forever. It is not a unique question or concern to just you or to me. Time has been very good to this question which means to me that we should be looking at it in our own lives.

So, what is the most important thing to you today? As an employer, it would serve us well to think about what the most important thing is today. We need to give our focused energy to something today. Let us make it be a very intensive purpose.

Jumping from one thing to another, every three minutes, is probably not as effective as spending ninety minutes really working on the one thing that can bring value to our employees. After ninety minutes, we can take a break and work through some other issue.

We might give some time to others, stretch our legs or mind somehow. Then back to a ninety-minute sprint of focus on the one thing we can bring to our customers. How would that change your day today? What is the first thing you can do to work on the most important issue in the next seven days?

As a follower of Christ, we can answer a very similar question. What is the one thing you can do today to share the love of Christ? In Mark 12:28-34, Jesus was asked, “What is the most important commandment?” Jesus responded “The most important commandment is this: “Listen, O Israel!

The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all you soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” Whether we are thinking about the most important issues for our companies, families or walk with Christ, we would benefit by reflecting upon the answer and acting.

To know what is most important and fail to act does not provide value. It also does not provide love. What will you do today about it?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you have created the laws of the universe and the laws of relationship. Help us to focus on what is important today. Use our energy to glorify your love.

Help us in the areas that support our most important efforts. Send your Holy Spirit to make our focus time be impactful. Be with those who are sick and suffering today. May they especially know your love today. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
