No matter how big a business organization is the leader needs help. We do not know everything, and we cannot do everything. As a leader, we can accept the challenge to recognize where we need that help.
Once you know where you need help you can deploy and delegate for enhanced value. There are two teams to consider leading. Those teams are the internal team and the external team. Some of the team members are people that are within your day-to-day activity of leadership and management.
Those might be employees or volunteers of the team. The other team members are the external team which are those that provide business to business or organizational support. Both teams help to deliver the organization’s mission as well as products and services.
Asking yourself what you would do with your time if you had a clone of yourself can help? A clone replicating what you do would give you time to do more. What is missing from your internal team that a clone could do? One can look at the external team as well.
What is the most important component you could add to your external team? It might be a coach or maybe even a new member of your board. This focus can have an exponential effect on an organization and its members. What can you do about it in the next seven days?
As followers of Christ, we need help as well. An inner circle level of relationship can help us follow Christ. Those friends on the inner circle can understand the struggles we deal with, and they support us.
We read, “They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land!” Numbers 14:7 NLT. These are the words from Joshua and Caleb. They were supporting the inner circle of Moses even when the other ten tribes did not.
Our inner circle does not act for us, but they can share their perspective and lift us up when we feel that we cannot get up. They will not be our salvation. They are not responsible to do the work that I am called to do. My inner circle of friends will not justify me before God on judgment day.
I cannot save others. That is where Jesus comes in. He is the Savior who died on the cross. I need the Savior in my life, and I need the members of God’s church who are in my inner circle to support me on my walk with Jesus. We are not designed to walk alone.
What is the first thing you can do today to connect with the Savior Jesus? Who is in your inner circle? What might be the first thing you need to do this week to help your circle that would honor Christ??
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, Jesus suffered for me and I want him in my life. We thank you for your gifts and for sending Christ. Help me to be in a relationship with the church. Grow our inner circle of people to support one other. Make our unique talents and skills be used to lift one another.
Make healing occur and relationships be built, all to honor and glorify you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
