Just because you are a leader, an owner, or an entrepreneur, does not mean you have to do it alone. As leaders, we know the importance of leading our teams. But what about leading leaders? Today's thoughts make me wonder how many leaders I am leading in some way.
I wonder how many leaders you might be leading. It could be that the more leaders that you are leading is an indication you might be having more influence for exponential growth and exponential giving. It seems that the more one gives allows one to be available and open to receiving more as well.
If true, then pouring into others leadership abilities gives back to us as well and drives us to be better leaders also. This does not have to be a direct result, but it sure seems to happen often. Where can you lead more leaders?
Where might you be connected to a leader that has the potential to lead more leaders as well in your organization? When we think about others with the potential to lead, we might move courageously to have a conversation and provide affirmation for them. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Joab was a general for King David. The books of Samuel talk about him quite a bit. Joab knew that King David loved his son Absalom even though Absalom had done some terrible things. Absalom worked against his father, his father’s family and against the nation as he did it.
But Joab, as a leader in the military, was in a relationship with the king. He helped to move a wise woman to have a conversation with the king about the situation with Absalom. Her discussion opened the king’s eyes to a different way of thinking.
Eventually Absalom was invited back to the nation by David. Leaders, affecting leaders, who then are affecting more leaders. Think about how Jesus Christ has influenced leaders that you admire. Where might you be able to be in a relationship with another leader where you are not doing so now?
We just do not know how the Holy Spirit might move when we take a new perspective. But if we move leaders, our direct impact might just become exponential. Who is the first leader that comes to mind when you think of your sphere of influence? What is keeping you from collaborating with another leader to expand the kingdom?
Collaborating does not have to always add, but it certainly does find a way to multiply. If we are going to multiply anything on this planet, I suspect that multiplying the impact of Jesus and the kingdom of God here is a worthwhile effort. What is the first thing you can do in the next seven days with a leader that just might possibly lead to an exponential result?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you are the Creator and have made the leaders. We pray for our leaders. We ask that you comfort them as we ask them to lead. They reflect, analyze, coordinate, and communicate. We humbly ask that you might send your Holy Spirit to guide them with love and compassion.
Send it where needed and send strength and courage where it is needed as well. May we play the role that you might have us fill that brings you honor. Comfort us we pray as we reach out to those leaders in the next seven days. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
