November 18. A Complete Turnaround.

We don't fear change, we fear loss. So avoid loss and embrace change.

As a leader of families, in your job or at your companies, I think one of our important roles is to embrace change. Our team will grow as we do a better job of defining our value. How will that change you if your team grows? Our sphere of influence will grow as our value proposition grows.

How will that change your team and your competition? Our global leaders will transition and so do their powers. Your value proposition might go through a transition as well. It does not matter what geopolitical office you look at; it will change over time. Our leadership and systems might be critical at those transitions.

Do you have systems in place to assist the transition process where you lead? It could be that a transition is when someone else can bring value to you and your team. Where do you see a possible transition in the next ninety days? Transitions have traditionally been a place where collaborating with others can bring a new and different perspective.

When we collaborate, we have new eyes that see the issues at hand. Things change when people are watching. This is true especially when you ask them to watch and comment. Can you prove this thinking about witnessing a bad breakup of a relationship? Breakups happen differently in a public place versus a private.

A transition is a breakup, but it is a good break up because there is a need for the transition. What transition is about to happen in the next three years? How can you collaborate with others to make it be the best transition you have ever experienced?

As brothers and sisters in Christ, forgiveness is a challenge to many of us. Our competitive and survival focus is not about forgiveness. But the joy we can obtain from forgiving makes opportunities ever present.

We read in Daniel 4:37 NLT, ""Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud.”” Wow, this is the same King that is spoken about being so ruthless and strong. He was powerful and his armies terrifying but now we see that he praises God.

If God can turn the heart and mind of a powerful king like Nebuchadnezzar, he can surely turn those people that have harmed us. To take hope in that, tends to give us a lift emotionally. Imagine if our enemies would get right with the world and with us.

But it should remind us of our hope in Christ. I hope that it is us that will be forgiven by our fellow man. In that forgiveness, we might be ready for the transitions and change. Withholding forgiveness weighs us down and stops a transition. Where in our unforgiving of others might we be stuck?

How can getting unstuck in this area be accelerated by collaborating with others? I bet there is someone in your life that you can collaborate with without their judgment getting in the way. What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to transition. Thank you for placing people in our lives that can help with those transitions. Send your Holy Spirit to us today to guide us. May the trees swaying in the wind remind us to stay rooted in our relationship with Christ. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
