As a leader of a company or family, our connections to one another are important. It is the foundation of our relationships. When we are not connected, separation occurs. Too much separation can put cracks in the foundation which could lead to a break or collapse.
What do you do to prevent excessive separation from happening? Some separation is ok but as leaders we need to be able to bring ourselves and our team members back. If we as leaders are not able to do this well, we are likely to lose our members occasionally.
As leaders, that is a cost we can mitigate. The eclipse of the sun and moon is a special event. The coming together of the two space objects is noticed by the entire planet. But the sun and the moon will always separate after the eclipse passes by. We need to be able to recognize the separations of our team and limit them.
Limits can serve a purpose when they are intentional. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
As brothers and sisters in faith we are connected. When sin rears its head our connections to one another weaken. Look around your world and watch for hatred, anger, greed, envy, and jealousy. When you see them, I believe that you will find some separation and even brokenness.
We read, "No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39 NLT. That is good news for us. All we have to do is read or watch the news to see the brokenness of this world.
God revealed, through Jesus, that his foundation with us is strong. If nothing can separate us from God, then our relationship with the Creator is indeed unbreakable. Our trust in that foundation can help us to draw near to one another when we are separated.
Where do you feel or believe that there is excessive separation in your relationships? For many separations, the only thing that keeps the separation open is us. When we choose to keep the doors open to our hearts, we allow our love to escape and love to come in from others.
Are we willing to look for the limits? Will we seek them and allow Jesus to fill them where needed and to remove them when they restrict us? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, thank you for closeness and your bond. We pray for your guidance when we feel that an eclipse has occurred that separates us. Empower and strengthen us to remove the barriers to draw nearer to you.
Open our eyes to the barriers that we ourselves create. Draw us together where sin would separate us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
