Leaders, what are we standing for? That is an important question for us to answer. It drives us right to purpose. It gets past our temptation to tell what we do or how we do it. A plumber that knows what they stand for has a value approach that places them in an elite circle.
If entrepreneurs cannot tell others our purpose, it might be that we are not going to build very strong teams. Where do you stand today? Does all of your team know your stand, and do they know their role? Does everyone have a stand on your team? When people do not have a stand, it is difficult to be accountable.
If everyone is able to have a stand, as a leader, you should know it. As a team we have a higher level of opportunity available to us when we choose to be accountable to our purpose. What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?
Brothers and sisters, what is your stand today? Are you uncommitted in your stand? It seems to me that we want to have our feet on a strong foundation and be able to communicate our stand. I expect that there might be a day of reckoning where someone will want to know where you stand.
If you are not locked in and ready to state your stand then know that God is ready for you to shape it. He knows where he is in his stand, for he sent his son to save the world. That is his stand. “For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth.” 2 Corinthians 13:8 NLT.
This statement challenges us every day to choose to acknowledge it. Will you be accountable to accept the challenge or to embrace the day with a stand? It might be that one can be more comfortable closing their eyes to what is happening around them.
That can lead to one sitting to not gain any attention. I choose to stand, with Christ, with you my brothers and sisters in Christ. I stand on the rock with you, to be lifted up by you and to lift you up when either of us slip and fall. What is your stand today? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, here we stand, ready to cry out your name. We choose today to cry out your name in celebration and in pain. We ask for the Holy Spirit to speak clearly to us today. Move us in action. Bring us to rest and always to stand on the rock, our cornerstone Jesus Christ.
Let the winds and waves move but make our foundation and footings solid. May we lean on each other as the motions tempt us. Make the firm foundation of your love connect us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
