April 23. Yes, No, Maybe and Wait. I Cannot Decide.

Some areas of consistentcy lead to value.

How important is consistency? It is critical. When we understand that, there are certain things we can do to advance excellence in our lives as entrepreneurs. How do you start your day or your business's day? It either starts in an excellent manner or it does not.

We might not give it any thought sometimes, but you set the tone for the balance of the day, every day when you do that. How do you close your day? It happens every day because you must rest personally even if your business is open 24 hours. You cannot avoid the close of your day.

What do you do consistently to close your day? Consider where the weakest part of your business systems or delivery is. I would bet that if you ask your friends, employees or customers that they say it might be that the team is consistently there in that weakness. But in knowing that, you have the greatest opportunity to fix it.

What might be your weakness is someone else's or some other teams’ strength. By adding to your team, you might find solutions to work past weaknesses. Just because you are an entrepreneur does not mean you have to be doing it by yourself.

As leader, will we choose to be consistently weak and fail to deliver maximum value or would you rather not? To believe that the failure in the cycle of consistency will somehow be broken by wishful thinking is penny wise and pound foolish. Where have you or the team been consistently frustrated, non-performing and weak?

Who can you work with to address it in the next seven days? Where have you been consistently value driven? How can you do more of that in the next seven days? What is the first thing you can do about it?

Jesus led an amazing life and miraculous healings occurred all around him. He taught wherever he went as the disciples and the crowds followed. But the Bible shares a life with the consistency of Jesus’ actions. I love what it says about his days in Jerusalem during Holy Week.

In Luke 21:37-38, we read that every day he went to the temple to teach and each evening he returned to the Mount of Olives. The crowds gathered at the temple early each morning to hear him. Can you hear the consistency? Think big, boldly, and broadly about where you are not being consistent in your life.

No one needs to tell you where it is. You are likely able to see it and know where it is happening. What might occur if we invite Christ to be able to join us in those moments to bring us his consistency? We can rely on Jesus to allow his methods to impact our methods.

Sometimes all it takes is for us to stop and invite him to those moments. When we choose to collaborate with highly consistent people in our faith, we can trust that Jesus may set the bar at a different level of success. When we allow our consistency to be broken, we settle.

I do not want to settle when it comes to my relationship with Jesus. What about you? What is the first thing that you can do in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Jesus, you are always consistent. Your love never leaves us as you continue to share your love through your word and through your people. In our weakness, we leave you. Our inconsistency separates us from you and often we feel loss and pain when that occurs.

Help us to be more consistent in our lives so that like you, going to the temple and returning to the mount, we too can share in your love. Help us to enhance love by being in relationship with others, especially when they can bring their value to grow in you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
