Happy New Year. With the new year here, one important question is what will you do with all this potential? Will you give encouragement, leadership, and trust? Maybe you might give forgiveness, give more financially, or give yourself authority to transform physically.
I can improve in all areas. If you decide to, which will you focus on now? The slate is clean. Will we be better at listening, being honest and being in relationship with our teams? I can improve in all three areas. If you can improve, which will you focus on now? The slate is clean.
What will you, with your spotlight ability, do with all the days of the year ahead of you? What will you do as a family, professionally and to leave a legacy? I can improve in all three areas. The sky bound spotlights that I associate with Hollywood premiers just rotate without a real focus.
Our slate is clean, and we can place our spotlight on purpose. Will your attitude exhibit synergy, patience, growth, and teamwork? The spotlight is ready for any of the four, but the choice is ours. I am not a gambler really but would bet that one of the four is ready for you. The slate is clean.
The light has arrived. What will we spotlight in areas of to give, be, do and in what primary attitudes?
In the beginning, there was darkness. There was no light, but God was there, and he brought the light. “Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Genesis 1:3 NLT. He called the time of light day and the time of darkness the night.
So, it became that God created something out of nothing. He moved from the potential held in the darkness to that which is in the light. Just like that. You have probably heard some part of the passages that share the story of God creating the world.
January starts the new calendar year, so it is fresh today. It is a good day to recognize what we have just witnessed. I have started my one-year Bible reading. I hope that you might consider joining me. The journey every year starts at the beginning. The slate is clean.
There is nothing that is in the way keeping us from connecting to Christ. It is a little like the experience talked about in Genesis. We can prepare ourselves, with a spotlight like ability, to be in connection with Jesus through the inspired words of the Bible.
There was the darkness we experienced last year but that is in the past and now we have the new year. What is the first thing that you are going to do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you made the darkness into light. A light that still shines to this day. Help us to leave the dark behind and to share in your light. Make the love of a new day and of Christ surround us to draw nearer to you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen,
