July 15. You Want Me To Take What?
If someone asks you to take, will you say yes, no or maybe?
Value is what great entrepreneurs and leaders bring to the table. It is what we are about. If we are not, our true worth is not going to be much. Our true worth is measured by more than financial riches. One can provide lots of cheap and inexpensive products or services and get financially wealthy in the process.
That is not necessarily equivalent to value. Our value and delivery systems are best utilized when the customer and client are receptive to them. When they ask for products and services, we provide and give. But if the customer has not asked, then we are giving something that is not likely to be valued in the first place.
The customer will not find value themselves unless they take it. It is difficult, if not impossible, to lead someone that does not want to be led. Think about the organizations that your organization relates to. Where might your connection with a business that is in service to you be weak because you are not taking what they are offering?
Where might you have a customer connection that is weak because they are not taking advantage of the level of your expertise? Collaborating to fix the disconnect might just be a strong move towards better connections, service, and profitability. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
As brothers and sisters in faith, we are blessed with many gifts. But during our faith journey it is common that we might miss seeing some of our blessings. We have been given much. But what is it that we are actively seeking and taking?
The concept reminds me of this Proverb, “Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the LORD can give an understanding wife.” Proverbs 1:14 NLT. It is beyond my reasoning that I think that I could give my children a spouse. I can count on the blessings that God provided to me as a spouse.
I remember my vows which said, "I take." Yes, I did take. I agreed. I accepted responsibility. I ask
ed her, my wife consented, countered with the official ceremony request, and I took her offer. Sometimes I think that we might be missing connections to our Lord by not stepping forward and taking.
Where has God provided in the past, and you failed to take it? Maybe we can keep our eyes open for the opportunity to take. I believe that God gives us many chances to take that we miss seeing. If we are not willing to take, we probably are not willing to keep our hearts and minds open to the possibility.
I believe that God can use us to collaborate in his ministry and message on earth. Do you believe that? What is the first thing that you can do about being open to taking on something in your faith in the next seven days??
Let us pray, generous and gracious God, thank you for the blessings. You have given so many blessings that they are beyond counting. There have been so many blessings that we miss the opportunities to take advantage of them all.
Help me to remove my blinders so that I might see what you offer so that I might take your opportunities. Help me to prioritize your opportunities for me over what the world might suggest are opportunities.
May the opportunities to love, to show compassion, to provide support and value to my brothers and sisters of faith be met with acceptance and the willingness to take them as Christ took up the cross for us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
