Sometimes as leaders or as entrepreneurs we can discover things. Things that are new may be exciting, may add to your value proposition and energize your team. Our minds like stability and variability both. There is a balance that it seeks.
Have you had any new discoveries in the last thirty days? Has your team been excited to share something new or could it be that they are at work in a grinding repetitious fashion? Many times, people can get or slip into an old groove.
Once you get into a groove it can be difficult to get out. But a new perspective can challenge the groove. One way out of an undesirable groove is to fill the groove so as you move forward, you rise from it. How can you energize your team today to look for a new discovery?
Think about a fishing analogy. If you fish in the same spot each time you fish, you will probably catch the same kind of fish? Who on the team can you inspire to seek a new discovery? Who could inspire you to find a new discovery? What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?
Do you recall ever reading or hearing about Rhoda from the Bible? She made a huge discovery. You can read about her in the Book of Acts. Look for her in chapter 12. Her discovery was so energizing that she had to run and tell the news.
It was such a discovery that when others heard her they dismissed her and made up excuses as to why she said what she said. They began to interpret her experience for her. But it was the interpreters that got it wrong. They were not ready or willing to look or listen for new discoveries it might seem.
Where have you been the discoverer in the last thirty days? God’s creation is at hand and the Savior is ready to help others in his discovery. Maybe we can be energized like Rhoda this week. There is no more important discovery that we can help with than to help others discover our Savior Jesus Christ.
Without people sharing the good news of Jesus they may never make the discovery. When we know Christ as Savior our discoveries do not need to stop. Our relationship can continue to grow by seeking even more new discoveries. What is the first thing that you might have to do to make way for a new discovery in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Jesus, today we ask for your assistance. Help us remove our stressors and excess tension. May the blindness fall from our eyes so that we might see anew. May our discoveries of the day include your love in a new way. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
