June 27. We Have More Capacity Than We Think.

Mark Queen • June 26, 2024

If you had a clone, what would you have them to do?

Leaders of companies and organizations deploy resources by combining their past experiences, their knowledge, technological tools, intellectual property, and human energies. We might often think that we have it figured out because we achieved a level of success.

But no one person has everything needed for the benefit of others. We are limited by what it is that we can gather and deploy right now. We are able to expand upon our experiences when we invite others to join us. We can grow and deliver our value propositions better by building a team.

Where is the most important area of your organization for you to add to? I am curious. Imagine if you had the ability to clone yourself three times. Your clones would always act in unison and for your benefit while being capable of doing different tasks.

They would be able to fulfill any role or responsibility including new ones you have not handled yet. What three things would you deploy your clones to do? If we place our focus on what our own clones would do we can start to evaluate others who can fulfill the roles for us.

Who might be the best person who would add to your team? What is the first thing that you can do to focus on your cloning capability in the next seven days?

Where are you confident in your faith? One can be tempted to stop growing when we find some confidence and competence in our faith. Confidence and competence do not have to cause complacency, but it requires focus to continue the growth.

We can be teaching others who might be less confident. If we can teach others, even if it is the basics, then we are capable of learning as well. In the book of Acts, we read about Apollos.

It says, “He had been taught the way of the Lord, and he taught others about Jesus with an enthusiastic spirit and with accuracy. However, he knew only about John’s baptism. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him preaching boldly in the synagogue, they took him aside and explained the way of God even more accurately." Acts 18"23-26 NLT.

We might learn from this that there are lessons that each of us can master.  The journey to master an area brings us value and may result in us being of value to others like Priscilla and Aquila.  Others might include those who have already shown a level of confidence or competence in their faith.

Which way are you being called right now to place your focus?  Will you share with another, or will you choose to learn from another? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you have wonderfully made us. We are never at our full capacity although we often think or act like we are. Help us to strip away every notion that I am full. Strip away my short sightedness of my areas of confidence. Bring your clarity where others might be able to help us to draw closer to you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen, ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
