Business owners direct a team of people on a path. On what path are you taking your team? I like to think that the first thing to know is why we have chosen the path that we are on. When you think about it, we have lots of paths.
The easiest path is the one of the least resistance because the limitations have been removed from it. So many paths are available, that maybe it is possible to think that we can take any path. We are unrestricted in which path to take but there are paths that are not established.
I have been to places and so have you probably that a path does not exist. For whatever reason, the path is not there. It is probably because of the landscape or best use of the resource not to have a path. In our business world, we can expect that if the landscape does not have a path, then we are blazing that trail ourselves.
That is a lot of work as there are going to be many hurdles to make that path. It is the transformational change of the path and the obstacles transforming that can make big differences for our clients and team. A value proposition can be enhanced when we make clear the way for our clients.
Where is your team currently blocked on its path? Where are you blocked on your path and what can you do about it in the next seven days?
As a follower of Christ, we find ourselves on a very different path than those who do not. Our paths are crossing all the time. These cross points give us the opportunity for others to know us, to know our path and to know our Savior, Jesus. Our paths also will have occasional obstacles.
There might be crashes of some kind that we wait to be cleared. Maybe a physical obstacle like a boulder or tree has fallen onto the path causing a delay or closes the path. Maybe we have not given much thought to our path which has us stuck in a traffic circle.
In Proverbs we read, "A lazy person's way is blocked with briers, but the path of the upright is an open highway." Where might you have briers on your path? Is it time to remove them completely or will you just keep squeezing by them until you come up against them again?
If we are stuck maybe, it is our responsibility to clear them. Our limits are temporary, and our brothers and sisters are available to be of help as well. Clearing the limits for ourselves might clear the path for future us for others also. What is the first brier that you would work on in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Jesus, the road is full of opportunities and risks. There might be robbers and thieves along the side of the road just waiting in anticipation to take advantage of us. We seek the comfort of knowing that you will be with us through anything.
Send your light of love to show us along the way so that our path is clear. We want clarity of our vision on the path to follow you. Make our hands and minds be skilled and ready for the obstacles that appear on our path. Guide us to intersect with other paths to glorify you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
