As leaders, are we ready to be shaken? There will be people and events that will challenge us and our teams. Our reactions at these shaking times are important. I think that if we can focus on our value proposition our reactions will lead us through successfully.
Our attitude about the shaken moments can be influenced right now. We can prepare our hearts, minds and team for them as we know they will come. When events shake our team and our clientele it is the value proposition that gives us direction. Without it, it might be that fear will give direction.
Consider fire as an example. If the building is on fire and our team is in it, our focus should be on our team, clientele and any visitors that might be in the structure. Getting them to safety right away is the priority. It is our value proposition which would have already addressed the backup contingencies.
We would have already thought about those supposedly irreplaceable items. Running with value has purpose but running with fear has panic. Choosing purpose over panic every time is valuable but that requires leadership. Where might you need to be thinking about your attitudes during a crisis?
How might your value proposition provide safety, purpose, and avoid panic?
Brothers and sisters, stand up. Stand tall with your feet solidly planted on the rock. With knees slightly bent and our heads held high we can stand and sway as this world shakes.
We read, "Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us pray, be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.” Hebrews 12:28 NLT. We are not called to bow to fear but to bow to God the Father and Jesus Christ who sits at his right hand.
Let us stand firmly together against the world’s attacks. Jesus will be there to pick us up if we fall. Let the earth quake and the buildings shake, but we will only bend our knees in a bow to the Father. The fear and panic of this world are replaced by the love and purpose of the cross.
We have many attitudes, and they will be challenged. As we leave the world’s concerns to the world we can change and take on the attitudes that Christ taught us. Where do you want to replace the shaking and fear with love and purpose in your life?
What is the one attitude that is in the way of love? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you are the unshakable. We realize that to be shaken you must be in reference to something. It is our prayer today that our shaking be in reference to you. If you choose to shake us, give us the confidence so that we might dance nimbly on your dance floor.
Let our feet be light and fearless. May our bent knees always bow us towards you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
