As leaders of families, organizations, and companies we are leading our teams in a direction. I will call your desired direction your true north. As we lead, there will be others leading as well. Some will be going in the same true north direction and others will not. It is reasonable to expect that an industry might be headed in the same direction as your team.
That is where we might find some competition. But a bigger challenge than competing is to lead the industry. Can your team set the service standard or be the innovator in research and development, maybe both? What about your team collaborating to set the standard for the industry in establishing its why?
Often, we can find ourselves competing, when the profits just might be found in leading. Where is your company leading the industry or where might you set your sights in that direction? What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?
We practice our faith in our lives. But those lives happen in a broken world. We find ourselves disconnected from Christ when we sin. When others sin against us, we can feel resentment or possibly take on a victim-like attitude.
In Leviticus we read, “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:18 NLT. Christ taught us to overcome the challenges and to be resurrected. Where are the brothers and sisters hurting that you might know?
How can we be there in a manner like we ourselves would want comfort and compassion? Our ability to collaborate can help us to have compassion for others. Sometimes we do not need to compete but complete. Often, we do not need to provide the answers, we just need to be connected in love.
What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, when we are broken the days are long and sometimes the nights seem longer. But we thank you for the church and your love. Send us the compassion of the resurrection to complete us today.
Send us the comfort and healing of another brother or sister in Christ. May our spirits and hearts be lifted together as we come again to you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
