August 15. Who Will Celebrate?
Who has not been invited before to your party.
As entrepreneurs and team leaders, how do you celebrate? Hopefully there are celebrations to be had because you have some wins. Sometimes people think wins are big things like life and death moments and they certainly can be big.
But wins might also be small individual parts put together, assembled, and delivered for value to our customers and clientele. It really takes a win and win mindset to get to a big WIN. When we assemble the small parts into a win, is the celebration just mine, or the assembler?
Maybe it belongs to the team? Team members of the past might even have had a hand in it. When you celebrate, are you involving the entire team? If we do not give the opportunity to the entire team to celebrate then we might not be affirming them and their contribution. I am not sure that there is much value in a method that only one person celebrates as an accomplishment.
Where are you not including the team in your celebrations? Do your divisional staff celebrate with the other divisions? Do your staff from other locations celebrate with one another from city to city or state to state? When we narrow the focus inward to our own celebration, we have a party of one.
Assign a value to that approach. Now focus the celebration outwardly to include the entire team. Assign a value to that approach. Which approach do you think has the higher likely hood of impacting your clientele? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
We have a lot to celebrate as followers of Christ. But it is interesting how easy it is to find something to worry or fret about. Just watch the national news at the start of the evening and they will show you how to avoid celebration. We can celebrate though, as we have received the greatest gift possible. So how are you celebrating?
Are you sharing your celebration with just those that you can impress, those like yourself, or can you celebrate with even the lost? We read about a celebration at the beginning of the book of Esther. It reads “When it was all over, the king gave a banquet for all the people, from the greatest to the least, who were in the fortress of Susa.
It lasted for seven days and was held in the courtyard of the palace garden.” Esther 1:5 NLT. I am sure that there is a celebration coming soon in everyone's life that reads this devotion. Who might you include in the next celebration that has never been to a celebration with you?
You never know how it might affect your relationship until you try. Will our focus for celebration be inward or outward in the last half of the year? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, I want to celebrate right now. I want to celebrate your compassion, your love for us and our love for the church. I want to have a party with you, God. It is a party for you before the birthday party for Jesus comes.
Guide us and light the way like candles brighten a birthday cake. Give us smiles to share and words that show one another we care. Let us celebrate these gifts that you have delivered today and the ones that you will deliver tomorrow. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen,
