Who is on your team? If you have team members, then you will have times that you will be the leader. This is true because you have your part of the value delivery system to provide. You lead that part at some time in the process. So, what are you doing to improve?
Before we begin to learn and grow, we are like raw nuggets of gold. We have glimmers of hope than shine occasionally, but we are still in the rough. Then we begin to have our rough edges removed by a team of players. Gold nuggets are compressed as veins in the depths of mountains.
They are shaped by other rocks as they move in streams that flow across those same mountains. The team of our parents and of educators begin our process of shaping and our value begins to show like the gold is separated from the rock and dirt.
The relationships we create and the work that we contribute begin to refine, bend us, and give us shape. Finally, we are resolved into some form, like a wedding band, that has value to others. But once we have our shape, we must continue to be shined or we begin to be lackluster.
We need to be buffed and polished from the wear and tear of the world. What are you doing to improve and keep your shine? Who on your team needs a little buffing and how might you help? The polisher is valuable to all that they touch, including themselves.
How can you buff and shine as the leader this week? What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
As a people of faith, when we accept Christ, we become like the wedding band. We are to be the band, which brings Christ and the lost together. We are to continue to become a better and better band through our relationship with Christ ourselves.
But we also are to share our Lord with those that do not know him. We read, "Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.” Daniel 12:10 NIV.
Brothers and sisters, we get filled with blemishes from our sins. We get tarnished by the sins of others as well. So, let us be of one mind to continue to grow and be purified in Christ. Let us refine our relationship to shine and let the world know. Where do you need to do some polishing?
The raw nuggets are ready for the harvest, but someone must start the process. Maybe that someone is you and your polishing may be just the shine that catches their eye. Christ will be the light and we can reflect it. Will we choose to share the light and polish others as well?
When others are polished, they can reflect the light of Christ and the world will be brightened as we do it. If the world is too dark where you are, then maybe it is time for you to be the leader and shine the light. What is the first thing that you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, thank you for your gifts. Thank you for sending people into our lives which have knocked the chunks of dirt and rock from us. Thank you for Christ who washes us, accepts our raw shape and broken fissures, and gives us new life. Bless those that have given us shape. Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire that process. May the process of polishing us bring others closer to a relationship with Christ. May the honor and glory be yours. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,
