As leaders, we help set the stage for progress. We even create measurements to evaluate if we are declining, advancing or just maintaining. If we are part of a value delivery process, we are wanting to advance. We need our goals to reflect those objectives and then put processes in place to achieve them.
Some choose to see this as adding pressure. But another way to achieve this success might be by adding commitment. Where is your team committed to your goals? Where are you committed to achieve? One of the best ways to ensure we are committed is by making a promise to a minimum level objective and committing ourselves to a penalty of some kind for failure.
As leaders, we can set those promises and commitments only for ourselves, but we can share them with the team. I like to believe that the highest achieving teams are committed to one another and make promises to one another. Where is your team committed?
A highly committed team can collaborate by communicating their promises. What is the first thing you can do about it in the next seven days?
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we have been given promises to us by God. So where are we making promises in our walk of faith? We read, “If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.” Proverbs 24:10 NLT. I find strength in the promises of God. Do you?
If our strength is too small, we might be too weak for the task. It seems reasonable to keep from failure, we should seek to be stronger, so that we can make more promises. Let us imagine that you made a promise every week of the year. You started with a promise that was small and was achievable so that you met your obligation weekly.
Would you believe that this path would make you stronger? Would there be power in our promises to God and each other? Collaboration in our faith by using promises increases our trust in one another. We can certainly find power in the promises from God. What is the first thing that
you can do about it in the next seven days?
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, like the song says, we can stand on the promises of God. Guide us as we consider the power of our words and our promises. May our commitments be supported by our promises. Let us proceed with them hand in hand as we want to walk with Jesus, hand in hand. In Jesus' name, we pray. Together, Amen,
